Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American singer and actress began by releasing witty raps which addressed sexual identities, racial identity and gender. Before expanding to Hollywood the singer and actress released several rap tracks. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her initial musical experience. She performed on the trumpet. She also received instruction in jazz and classical before exploring hip-hop in her teenager. While in college, she took classes in journalism and women's studies. It was also during this time that she spent one semester studying Mandarin while in Beijing. However, it wasn't until she graduated when she decided to turn her attention towards music. Her track My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. The track was later included on her album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also contained songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef or the winking city tour in NYC Bitche$. The latter track connected directly with another Awkwafina project NYC A travel guide that was released in 2015. After she established herself as a performer and author and a writer, she decided to take on the roles of actor. Along with the early TV shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in film projects like Neighbors in Storks. In 2018, she scored breakthrough roles in a handful of famous films such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she published the EP in Fina We Trust.
