Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) was an American actress, singer and dancer. She began her Broadway career with musicals such as Wicked Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of acclaimed directors and actors in TV and stage productions. Her award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu special show Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film will be released on Disney DTC's platform. Ashford is scheduled to come back in 2023, and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephen Sondheim Sweeney Todd. The production team of Hamilton production Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the director's helm for the show. Ashford starred as Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon an infamous national crime that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main actors. Over the course of two seasons, Ashford was the main character of the critically acclaimed CBS comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Her additional Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren for Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford has been raised in Denver currently splits her time between Los Angeles & New York.
